Fact and Fantasy - Exhibit Museum visitors will dive into the world of sharks, where they'll meet life-sized models of sharks and rays, ranging from the tiny 18-inch catshark to the enormous great white. Sharks! Fact and Fantasy examines shark evolution, anatomy and behavior using fact-filled displays and interactive exhibits. Visitors will even have the unique opportunity to check out fossil sharks and rays from never-before-seen private collections.
Island of the Sharks - Omnitheater Island of the Sharks takes Omnitheater viewers on a tour of Cocos Island, an uninhabited jungle habitat located 350 miles off the coast of Costa Rica. Believed to have inspired Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island, Cocos Island and the waters that surround it teem with exotic wildlife, including white tip, hammerhead, and silky sharks. Viewers will marvel at the dazzling diversity and complex ecological balance that exists at Cocos Island as they are immersed in a tropical paradise with some of the most powerful and mysterious unseen predators.
Search for the Great Sharks - Omnitheater Selected screenings of the Science Museum of Minnesota's own Search for the Great Sharks will take viewers on a round-the-globe expedition to witness some of the worlds' largest sharks at close range. From the coast of California to the remote reaches of South and Western Australia, the film pursues blue sharks, whale sharks, and the most notorious of them all – the great white shark. Viewers will get a unique sense of closeness to these awesome creatures, and they'll learn all about humans' role in threatening their existence.
