City of St. Paul, Minnesota

They say that the city of St. Paul, Minnesota is the most livable city in America. Second most populous city of the U.S. state of Minnesota. Compare to the other city, Saint Paul has more city shoreline on the Mississippi, the head of navigation of the great Mississippi River. It lies mostly on the north bank of the Mississippi River, downstream of the river’s confluence with the Minnesota River, and adjoins Minneapolis, the state’s largest city. The estimated population size is 287,151. Saint Paul’s population is 64.3% White non-Hispanic, 13.4% Asian, 12.6 % African American and Pan African, 8.5% Hispanic and 1.2% American Indian. Saint Paul serves as the country seat of Ramsey Country, the smallest and most densely populated country in Minnesota. It is founded near historic Native American settlements as a trading and transportation center and contains important institutions and the state’s political activity. In the United States, Saint Paul is second in the number of higher education institutions per capital. The Saint Paul Public Schools district is extremely diverse with students from families that can speak 70 different languages. But only for languages are used for most school communication that is English, Spanish, Hmong, and Somali.

The city is popular for the Xcel Energy Center a multi-purpose entertainment and sports venue that can be converted to host concerts and accommodate nearly all sporting events; it is also home of the Minnesota Wild, and also for the Science Museum of Minnesota. It is also the headquarters for major companies like Ecolab, a chemical and cleaning product company which was named in 2008 by the Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal as the eighth best place to work in the Twin Cities for companies with 1,000 full-time Minnesota employees. Lawson Software, a business software and support company. And also Gander Mountain the retailer of sporting goods that operates 115 stores in 23 states. It is the home also of the Ford Motor Company’s Twin Cities Assembly Plan. It is located in Highland Park on the Mississippi River adjacent to Lock and Dam No. 1, Mississippi River which generates hydroelectric power.

Saint Paul was formerly called Pig’s Eye or Pig’s Eye Landing when Pierre “Pig’s Eye” Parrant established a popular tavern in the settlement. But when Fr. Lucian Galtier established the Log Chapel of Saint Paul he made it known that the settlement be called by the name “Saint Paul” because it is monosyllable, sounds good and it is understood by all Christian denominations. This is the city where you can live, work, and raise your family. It is alive with community vibrancy, from the businesses and organizations and to the residents who live in Saint Paul’s neighborhoods that they call it there home.
