Saint Paul Convention and Visitors Bureau Earns Top Destination Award for 2004
(Saint Paul, MN) - The Saint Paul Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has been recognized as a top destination by Facilities & Destinations Magazine, a national publication based in New York, geared toward the Meetings and Convention market. The 2004 Top Destinations Awards are bestowed upon cities based on the attractiveness of the community and also on the quality of its convention center, professionalism of staff, hotel accommodations, special promotions and services and accessibility.
Cities are nominated by an association of meeting planners, and voted for by subscribers to the magazine. This is the 4th year that the Saint Paul CVB has received this prestigious award.
"We are very honored to receive this distinctive award," said Julie Larson, vice president of sales and marketing for the Saint Paul CVB. "It's a privilege to be chosen as one of the top meeting destinations in the country by national meeting planners. We know that planners love the fact the Saint Paul's convention center is located in the heart of downtown on the Mississippi River, within walking distance to hotels, theaters, restaurants and entertainment and that the city is so accessible from anywhere in the country. We'll continue to offer the friendly, professional service that earned us this award and look forward to making even greater improvements to our convention product in the coming months."
Saint Paul is conveniently located on the Mississippi River just ten miles from downtown Minneapolis and minutes from the Mpls/St. Paul International Airport and Mall of America. In addition to the RiverCentre convention and entertainment complex it offers many unique, historic meeting and banquet venues and 1500 downtown hotel rooms within walking distance of the convention center. Its walkable downtown area boasts 5 beautiful parks, a wide selection of restaurants and cafes and a vibrant theater and entertainment district, with several museums, galleries and more theater seats per capita than any U.S. city with the exception of New York.
