Cathedral of Saint Paul
Two of the city's architectural masterpieces, perfect neighbors for the elegance of the avenue, will bring your visit to a perfect close. The Cathedral of Saint Paul, modeled after Saint Peter's in Rome, and the State Capitol, crowned by the largest unsupported marble dome in the world, both show a Michelangelo influence.

The Cathedral, at Summit and Selby, was dedicated to the people of Saint Paul by Archbishop John Ireland, a fighting chaplain during the Civil War who later diverted his energies and determination toward raising the funds for the creation of the 1915 structure. Of Renaissance design, the Cathedral features a dome rising 306.5 feet from the floor to the tip of its cross.
