Saint Paul's Best on a Budget
"Mix and match" these great attractions with our previous itineraries to develop the perfect itinerary for your group's budget or include them together and enjoy some of our "best on a budget!" In Saint Paul, you will certainly appreciate the many economical opportunities there are to experience our city.

Our adventure begins at one of Minnesota's most treasured landmarks, Landmark Center, across from beautiful Rice Park in downtown Saint Paul. Landmark Center is the former Federal Courts Building and houses the courtrooms that held trials for the likes of Ma Barker, Al "Creepy" Karpis, and others, often with J. Edgar Hoover in attendance. Free narrated tours are available with reservations.

Beautiful Landmark Center is also home to the Schubert Club Museum, which houses a fine historic collection of keyboards and stringed musical instruments, as well as the home of one of Saint Paul's newest museums, the American Association of Woodturners' Museum. Visitors marvel at the amazing carvings created by these talented artisans. Museums are free.

The next stop is the breathtaking Cathedral of Saint Paul, located prominently on the highest of Saint Paul's five hills at the beginning of Summit Avenue. Modeled after Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome and dedicated as a monument to the people of Saint Paul, the Cathedral welcomes visitors to walk inside and see the magnificent architecture, the jaw-dropping beauty of the stain glass windows and gold plated ceiling. Donation appreciated.

There is no separating church and state on this tour as a visit to the Minnesota State Capitol is a must. Minnesota's Capitol building is widely considered a beautiful masterpiece constructed by famed architect, Cass Gilbert. Explore the "ins and outs" of Minnesota's amazing government building. Free narrated tours are available with reservations.

The Como Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory is the next stop. The zoo is free, remains open all year and is home to lions, tigers, bears, giraffes, monkeys, oh my! Como is one of the few zoos its size in the country that is FREE! The Conservatory is the largest glass-domed garden in the region and is home to the beautiful Sunken Gardens, featuring seasonal flower displays year-round, along with many other exotic plants and gardens. Conservatory entrance fee of $1.
